How To Fix A Refrigerator Water Dispenser?
Hi. The water dispenser in my KitchenAid Superba refrigerator is not working. It was slowing down for a long time…you’d have to hold the glass there for several seconds before the water would come out. The time got longer and longer until water just stopped coming out altogether. I changed the in-line filter a few weeks ago, and that worked to fix it for about 3 days. Then it started taking longer again, and now it doesn’t work anymore again. The ice maker still seems to work, although I don’t use too much ice, so I’m not positive about this. I have a feeling that there are mineral deposits in the line somewhere, but I don’t know how to get it out. I’d love some suggestions, other than to call a repairman. I will if it comes to that, but I already know that a repairman could fix it. I wouldn’t have asked if I thought that was the only answer. Thanks!

If you can find the water line to the dispenser, close the root valve near the wall and find the connection CLOSEST to the dispenser. If it’s a simple tubing fitting you can disconnect it with a wrench(lefty/loosey-righty/tighty.)
Put a receptacle near the open tubing end and open the valve- if you have a good flow your plug is futher down the line. Connect and keep checking until you find plug. A good soak in vinegar will loosen and usually clear scale buildup.
