the nats usually follow sour smells or food. I dont know how old your water line is to your refrigerator. but you might want to start with changing that. washing out the area where your ices comes out of the freezer, some icecream might have melted there. and check the seal on the closure of the door it might need to be replaced

The gnats are attracted to the smells in the fridge and try to get in through the dispenser spout in the door. Also, over time food particles and cooking oils can build up in the spout and are irresistible to insects. You can clean the spout with a small round nylon bristle brush (like a tiny baby bottle brush) and ordinary anti-bacterial dish detergent.
